Ecorse Rowing Club is primarily a sculling (two oars in the hands) club that rows on the Detroit River that was established in 1873.

National Learn to Row Day and Open House - June 3, 2017 9:00 am - 11:00 am

ERC is proud to once again be participating in the National Learn to Row Day. This annual free event is Saturday, June 3, 9:00 am - 11:00 am.

  • Learn about rowing shells and how they work.
  • Try out an "Erg" (Indoor rowing machine) and pollywog
  • Weather permitting, you'll be able to get in a rowing shell and try rowing.
    • Supplementary Information:

    • We offer tours of the boathouse, a bit of workout on the indoor rowing machine and a taste of rowing a quad to interested groups.

    • Our Summer Learn to Row Classes will begin on June 20.

    2016 Summer Rowing Classes

    ERC is offering introductory rowing classes to youth (12-17 years old) and adults (18 and up) this summer.

    Youth rowing will be held at the same time as the adult class. Classes meeting Tuesdays at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 7:30 am.

    The first rowing class for 4 weeks is June 20-July 15.

    The second rowing class for 4 weeks is July 18-August 12.

    If attending one class session the cost is $100 (plus $40 club annual membership for adults).

    If attending both class sessions the cost is $170(plus $40 club annual membership for adults).

    Donating to the Building Fund for a New Boathouse

    You donation is tax deductible - we are a 501(c)3 organization.

    Meetings for Board Members

    Board meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm; check with any board member for the current location.

    This facility is very close to ERC's historic home, but it's a little hard to find. An aerial photo shows where things are in the directions page.
